Women at Coda Payments - Gokce

Describe your role as a Regional Manager, what do you do in your day-to-day work life?

I am responsible for Coda’s overall business in the Middle East, Turkey and North African countries. Meeting with my Business Development colleagues, collaborating with internal teams such as Marketing, Compliance, Finance, Tax, and speaking to local partners are part of my daily routine.

What do you think enabled your career success?

I always believe that the opportunities arise when you really crave them! Once I see an opportunity, I always prefer to keep a ‘can do’ attitude and focus on working out how to reach my goal.

How can women feel more empowered in their career advancement?

Be part of a support network. If you’re not part of one, build one! With a strong network, women can connect and seek support from one another. Support networks also creates a safe space for sharing of resources and knowledge.

How do you bounce back after making a mistake?

Mistakes are a part of being human. I own my mistakes and apologize to anyone affected. Then, I try to understand the root of the mistake to learn from it. Doing so helps me avoid making the same mistake, and I could also share the experience with others so they could learn lessons from my mistake, too.

Where do you draw your source of inspiration from?

Other women! Throughout my career, I've met so many strong and influential women with tons of self-confidence. They inspire me greatly, especially when I see them making a great impact at work while maintaining a wonderful work-life balance.

Any advice that can help women achieve the success they want in their workplaces, especially in male-dominated roles or industries?

Speak up! Never let yourself go unheard. Deep down, you know what you deserve; don’t be afraid to ask for what you want.
